Immerse yourself in the rolling countryside as you approach Childers main street, then get swept up in the Nostalgia surrounded by beautiful street lining of mature leopard trees. Park under the trees then walk around and look. You are in a town that is well over 100 years old…Now just consider the wealth that was around then to build a town of this size. You are in one of Queensland’s most prosperous towns of yesteryear and the best thing is it is still here to enjoy. Note one side of the street is built of timber and one of masonry…originally it was all timber but around 1900 one side burnt to the ground and was rebuilt in masonry. This town is an Architects delight with many Kodak moments.
